Barbara Ann DeKlotz , 91, of Marion, died Saturday, Sept. 24 2022, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, 915 27th St., Marion, Iowa. Pastor Andrew Noble will officiate. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at Indian Creek Country Club. 2401 Indian Creek Road, Marion, Iowa. Private Burial Services for family at a later date.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; children Debbi (Daniel) Washburn of Marion, Iowa, and David (Sherry) DeKlotz of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.; her grandchildren, Andrew (Stephanie) Washburn, Leah (Curt) Washburn, Nichole (Ryan) Holze and Samantha (Michael) O’Connor; and great-
grandchildren
, Luke and Lucy Holze and Lila Washburn. She is also survived by her brother, Allan (Lee) Eggers; and sisters, Cindy Jennings and Cathy (Joe) Humeniak.
She was preceded in death by her son, Randy DeKlotz; and parents, Ben and Marie Eggers.
Barbara was born June 1, 1931, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Ben and Marie Eggers. She married Kenneth DeKlotz on Jan. 7, 1951, in Keystone, Iowa. She worked at Collins Radio retiring 33 years ago. Barbara was a member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church and involved in many card clubs and various fund raisers in Delhi, Iowa. She enjoyed anything with music and loved going to TCR musicals, watching Lawrence Welk reruns, an avid Hawkeye anything fan and was an avid bridge player. Her pride and joy however were her children and grandchildren. She was an awesome cook and her specialty was Beef Stroganoff.
