Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Kevin Morgan; three grandchildren, Austin and Rebecca Morgan of Elmwood Park, Ill., and James Morgan and Elizabeth and Dillion Boenish of Cedar Rapids; and three absolutely great-grandchildren, Zachary and Christopher Morgan of Elmwood Park, Ill., and Pamela Jo Boenish of Cedar Rapids. Her sister, Georgian Olsen of Vienna, Va., also survives, as well as several nephews and nieces, including a special relationship with Terry and Kitty Olsen of Des Moines and their sons, Eric of Iowa City and Tim Olsen and family of Omaha, Neb. Special friends Von and Darlene Elbert were always there for Barb.
Her parents, John and Pauline Wagamon; son, Jeff; and grandchild, Aaron Morgan, preceded her in death.
Barb was born March 1, 1930, in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1947. She was a "married/working mom" before it was the norm, balancing her career and home life with her two growing children, Jeff and Jill. Aunt Linnie and grandma Fran were always there for the childhood "sick" days. She was a mother who was determined to give her children and grandchildren the advantages she did not have while growing up. She instilled the value of education and an independent spirit achieved through knowledge.
She joined the business world as a secretary in 1959, working for several local organizations and retired at age 78 after working 34 years for Von L. Elbert at Sta-Fed Tax, TLS, Co., Galt Sand and Camden Inc.
Her greatest enjoyment was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Family always came first!
