Banks, Leona
Leona Banks, 94, of Clarence, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services: 1:30 p.m. Monday, St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence, by the Rev. David Mears. Burial: Clarence Cemetery. Visitation: noon until service time Monday at the church. Arrangements with Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence.
Born April 29, 1916, in Clarence, the daughter of Dietrick and Helen (Tonne) Meier, she married William Banks there on Sept. 14, 1963. Leona was a Clarence High School graduate and then attended A.I.C. She worked as an insurance secretary for 21 years and then helped her husband at Bank's Radio and T.V. in Clarence.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, June Rowser of Clarence; nieces; a nephew; and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and a sister.
