Bangs, Bonnie Jean
Bonnie Jean Bangs, 76, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Heritage Care Center. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, by the Rev. Jonathan Offt. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel.
Survivors include her children, Carrie (Bill) Ball and Guy (Jennifer) Bangs, both of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Krista Bangs, Jessica and Jared Suchan, and Megan Bienfang; great-grandchildren, Trinity Suchan, Jaden Overturf and Carter Hermanson; brother, William Kraus; sister, Linda Nickle; nephew, Tony Nickle; and special friend, Marlene Horton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Larry.
Bonnie was born July 15, 1934. She married Larry Bangs in Cedar Rapids on Sept. 4, 1954. Bonnie was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school for 40 years. She loved to sew, entertain, and shop. Her greatest love was for her family.
