Balster, Steven Douglas
Steven Douglas Balster of Seattle, Wash., died unexpectedly at age 66, of a massive heart attack on Sept. 30, 2011, in Northwest Hospital, Seattle. Memorial services will be held at Goettsch Funeral Home in Monticello, on Saturday, Oct. 22. Visitation starts at 9 a.m., followed by a remembrance service at 10:30 a.m. Steve's ashes will be buried at North Madison Pioneer Cemetery in Center Junction, Iowa, after the service.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Les and Jean Balster.
Survivors include two sisters, Lynn Balster Liontos of Eugene, Ore., and Susan J. (Yorgos) Zazas of Miami Lakes, Fla.; his brother, David M. (Barbara) Balster of Monticello; and two nephews, Brian M. Balster of Denver, Colo., and Kevin C. Balster of Monticello.
