Balik, Helen
Helen Balik, 92, of Spillville, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at the New Hampton Nursing and Rehab Center in New Hampton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, with Monsignor Cletus Hawes presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Balik Funeral Home in Spillville, where a rosary begins at 4 p.m., and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Helen's survivors include her 11 children, Robert “Bob” (Cathy) Balik of Kalamazoo, Mich., Tony (Jane) Balik of Cedar Rapids, Kay Lowe of Conyers, Ga., Joan Balik of Denver, Colo., Ruth (Tom) Bernatz of New Hampton, Jerry Balik of Spillville, Dave (Deb) Balik of Cedar Rapids, Mary Balik of New Orleans, Mark (friend, Paulette Doubek) Balik of Spillville, Steve (Terri) Balik of Spillville and Lynn Balik of Alleman; and a sister-in-law, Elmarie Bouska of Protivin.
