Baker, Jack L.
Jack L. Baker, 60, of Cedar Rapids, died at home Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012. Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Unity Center by the Rev. Brenda Ehret. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories from 2 to 5 p.m.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Paula; daughters, Brooke (Rob) Gager of Marion and Page (Chad) Harford of Cedar Rapids; sister, Beth Parker of Marion; grandchildren, Ryan Baker-Gager, Meghan Leeper and Chase Leeper; beloved aunt and uncle, Renee (Bob) Stramel; mother-in-law, Lorraine Fowler; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Ray) Pena and Jorja Chmelicek; a nephew and several nieces; and many cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Candace Neal; a brother-in-law, Michael Stieger; and a nephew, Casey Stieger.
Jack was born March 27, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, to Jack and Milda Baker. He was a welder for 30 years in the Cedar Rapids area and was a proud member of UAW Local 1024 and Sheet Metal Union 263.
Jack was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He loved music, playing cards and being with family and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Mercy for their support and loving care.
