Augustine, Evelyn Theta

Evelyn Theta Augustine, 100, of Washington, Iowa, died Friday, June 14, 2013, at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center in Cedar Rapids after an illness of several months. Celebration of Life services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Jones & Eden Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bob Wollenberg officiating. Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday at Jones & Eden Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment will take place at Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth, Iowa.

A general memorial has been established.

Evelyn was born Nov. 11, 1912, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Logan and Gertrude (Britian) Crawford. She graduated from Washington High School in 1931. On Aug. 17, 1932, she was united in marriage to Lloyd D. Augustine in Aledo, Ill.

She spent most of her married life as a homemaker and assisted in the family farm operation. She raised chickens and grew and tended to her large gardens.

Evelyn is survived by one son, Neal Augustine of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd Augustine in 1993; one son, Gary Augustine; one brother, Daryl Crawford; and one niece.
