Audrey Jean Stanford, 90, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Jan. 1, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, with Certified Celebrant Dr. James Coyle officiating. Private interment will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories.
She was born in Allison, Iowa, in 1931. Over her lifetime Audrey lived in Waterloo, Iowa, Portland, Ore., Buchanan County, Iowa, Washington, D.C., Houston, Texas, Burbank, Calif., and Cedar Rapids Iowa. She took great pride in her employment with the FBI and Collins Radio. Audrey was a professional artist whose art work hung at St Luke's hospital, several doctors offices, Killian's department store and Trinity Lutheran School and Church in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Audrey married Wayne Lyle Stanford in 1955 in Independence, Iowa. They were married for 64 years and had two children.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Jennie and Wayne Harvey; her brother, Gordon Harvey (Minnie); her husband, Wayne; and her son, Eric.
She is survived by her daughter, Dawn; and her many nieces and nephews.
Dawn would like to thank all of Audrey's friends at Promise House. They truly loved Audrey and gave her great joy in the final years of her life.
