Audrey J. Hiatt-Tomich, 90, of Hiawatha, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at the Knox Chapel of Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 2106 Seventh Ave., Rock Island, Ill. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.
Audrey was born on Nov. 23, 1927, in Anaheim, Calif., the daughter of Otto Finnie and Inez Todd. She married John Tomich in 1970, and he preceded her in death. Audrey enjoyed cooking and growing plants. Her biggest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren, and she cherished the time spent with them.
Audrey is survived by her children, Susan (Paul) Brauer, Mickie (Paul) Hillyer, Terry Hiatt, Toni Smith, Tim Hiatt and Tracy (Dave) Whitford; 24 grandchildren, with special recognition to Tiffany Hiatt for always being there; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; children, Thomas Michael Hiatt, Joan Inez Hiatt and Colleen Sheila Haverly; brother, Rick Finnie; and sister, Joan Cook.
The family would like to send a special thank-you to Dr. John Lancaster and his staff for the care they gave to Audrey. They also would like to acknowledge and give special appreciation to Terry for the love, care and comfort she provided to her mother through all these years.
