AUDREY EILEEN VOTROUBEK
Cedar Rapids
Audrey Eileen Votroubek, 71, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, July 22, 2017, peacefully at her home.
Survivors include her best friend and companion, Dan Powers; a daughter, Shelly Votroubek; two sons, Kelly Votroubek and Kyle Votroubek, and his wife, Veria; two granddaughters, Cheyanne Martinek and Hailey Votroubek; a grandson, Colton Votroubek; a great-grandson, Jayson Martinek; sister-in-law, Diana Heck, all from the Cedar Rapids area; and brother-in-law, Patrick O'Malley of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Votroubek; her parents; her brother, Laverne (Bud) Gordon (wife, Betty Gordon); brother, Lon Heck; sister, Kay Newkirk (husband, Donny Newkirk); and sister, Ruth O'Malley.
Audrey was born March 22, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Milford and Ann Heck. She married Paul Votroubek on June 1, 1963. Audrey dedicated her life to being a devoted mother and loving wife. Audrey enjoyed nature, animals, Florida seashells and, of course, Elvis. She also was gifted with her words and we will all miss the late-night Scrabble games, along with her riddles and poetry.
We are grateful for the services provided by UnityPoint Hospice, a special thank you to Sue! Their organization enabled the family to honor Audrey's wish to spend her final days at home.
Our "Lil Feisty Lady" has left a void in the hearts of many. She will remain not only in our memories, but her spirit will be deeply embedded in our hearts forever.
As per Audrey's request, there will be no visitation or services. Memorials may be made to UnityPoint Hospice.
