Athey, Jo Anna (Dumbolton)
Jo Anna (Dumbolton) Athey, 85, of Lisle, Ill., formerly of Marion, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011. Funeral services will be held today at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home in Lisle, Ill. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion, by the Rev. Del Bear. Local arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
She was the beloved wife for 62 years of Darrel Athey; loving mother of the late Michael, David (late Nancy), Darrel Tod, Timothy Jon and Jay Alan (Jill) Athey; cherished grandmother of Aron Tommila and Joseph Allen Masterson; dear sister of Dorothy (Bob) Buckner, the late Mary Ellen (Bob) Burns, and the late Marcia Wiles; fond aunt of many.
Jo Anna was born in Marion, Iowa on Aug. 28, 1926, to Joseph W. and Dorothy S. (Reed) Dumbolton. She graduated from Marion High School in 1944.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society in Jo Anna's memory and sent to Jo Anna Athey Memorial Cancer Fund, 2205 Mayflower Dr., Aurora, IL 60506.
