Arthur O. Steen, 90, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017, at Northbrook Care Center in Cedar Rapids.
A visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 24, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at First Assembly of God Church in Cedar Rapids. Interment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Arthur was born Feb. 4, 1927, in Bethel, Minn., to Carl and Delia Vick Steen. He was united in marriage to Peggy Friend on Sept. 13, 1952, in Havre De Grace, Md. To this union four children were born.
Following his high school graduation in 1944, he enlisted with the U.S. Merchant Marines and was honorably discharged in 1946. In 1950, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served during the Korea War before his discharge in 1952.
Arthur drove buses for Charter Coaches and the Linn-Mar School District as well as beginning a 30-year career with the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier in Marion.
Arthur was an avid sports fan and he especially liked following the Chicago Cubs and Iowa State Cyclones. He enjoyed fishing and was a proud member of 60 years with First Assembly of God Church in Cedar Rapids.
Arthur will be missed by his sons, Dennis (Sheryl) Steen of North Port, Fla., Terry (Karen) Steen of Tampa, Fla., Craig (Chris) Steen of Ankeny and Neil of Cedar Rapids; one sister-in-law, Beverly Steen of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy, in 2010 after 57 years of marriage; a sister, Crystal (Myron) Spilde; and three brothers, Merlin (Louise), Lester (Ardis) and Carsten Steen.
