Arthur, Robert 'Bob'
Robert “Bob“ Arthur, 55, of Asheville, N.C., passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010.
He was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and was the son of Donna Faye Rife Arthur of Asheville, N.C., and the late Gene Allen Arthur.
He was a sales representative with Danka Office Imaging and was an avid fisherman. Bob was a gourmet cook, who loved to entertain his many friends. He loved to make people laugh and loved animals. Bob will be greatly missed by the many lives he touched.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Darcy Wagoner of Winston Salem, N.C., and Julie Voss and husband Ray of Asheville; a brother, Scott Allen Arthur of Weaverville, N.C.; longtime best friend, Brenda Brown of Fairview, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Groce United Methodist Church in Asheville, N.C., with the Rev. Gerald Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, before the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Buncombe County Humane Society, 55 Shiloh Rd., Suite 6, Asheville, NC 28803; or to the charity of one's choice.
Groce Funeral Home East Asheville on Tunnel Road is in charge of arrangements.
