Arnold, Richard L.
Richard L. Arnold, 67, of Iowa City, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at the Iowa City Care and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service, where there will be a time of visitation one hour before the services at 1 p.m. and following the services with refreshments.
Richard Lee Arnold was born Dec. 8, 1944, in Nevada, Iowa, the son of Dr. James R. and Ruth (Wagner) Arnold. In 1945, their family moved to West Branch, where his father, Jim, was a veterinarian, and where Richard attended and graduated from school. For a number of years Richard worked for Hawkeye Food Service but for many years he has been known for his clock repair service. He made a business out of a hobby he shared with his dad in clock repair. Richard enjoyed going to auctions and sales, not only to pick up more clocks, but other collectibles; he was especially fond of Roy Rogers items.
His family includes two aunts, Millie Rogers of Ottumwa and Bessie Arnold of Iowa City; and a number of cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and stepmother, Hazel Arnold.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Richard's memory.
Online condolences may be sent for his family through the Web at www.gayandciha.com.
