Arnold Kowalsky, 97, of La Porte City, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, at Sunnycrest Care Center in Dysart.
He and his brother, Dalton, owned and operated Kowalsky Signs in La Porte City for many years.
Survivors include his children, Joan (Claire) Foster, Joel Kowalsky and Marc Kowalsky, all of La Porte City, Jean (Andy) Marshall of Rogers, Ark., and Jon (Fay) Kowalsky of Fairfield Glade, Tenn.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Viola Halver of Bedford, Texas; and two brothers, Harvey Kowalsky of Houston, Texas, and Dalton (Marjorie) Kowalsky of La Porte City.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at American Lutheran Church, 801 Monroe St., La Porte City. Burial will be in West View Cemetery, with full military honors accorded by U.S.S. San Diego American Legion Post 207 and Nomandy VFW Post 3982 of La Porte City. Public visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. La Porte City Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
