John M. Arnold, 76, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at his home, Cedar Rapids. Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include wife, Joyce Arnold of Cedar Rapids; children, Donald (Diane) Arnold of Arkansas, Dianna (James) Whittmore of Arkansas, Mark Arnold of Arkansas, Michelle Arnold of Oklahoma, Malinda Arnold of Cedar Rapids and Bobbie Jo Grant of Colorado; grandchildren, April MeAlister, Rachael Cruz, Angela Cruz, Anthony Cruz, Matt Whittmore, Josh Whittmore and Danny Whittmore and Danny and Steven Ryan; and siblings, Bonnie Chandler of Waterloo, Annie McDonough of Rock Island, Ill., Lilian Schmill of Louisiana, Paul Arnold of Rock Island and Donna Arnold of Moline, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Mary (Frost) Arnold; and daughter, Shari Cruz.
John was born on Aug. 8, 1936, in Rock Island, Ill., son of Benjamin and Mary (Frost) Arnold. On March 6, 1971, he married Joyce Clark in Davenport, Iowa.
