Arnold G. "Arnie B." Brockman, 76, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at the Hiawatha Care Center after an extended illness. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors include a daughter, Karla (Andy) Anton of Cedar Rapids; four brothers, Gary (Linda) of Kenosha, Wis., Ron of Rochester, Minn., and Roger (Mary) and Rick (Margy), both of Tomah, Wis.; two sisters, Patty (Neal) Astle and Lisa Smrs, both of Wisconsin; and too many friends to name.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Greg.
Arnie was born Aug. 10, 1937, in Sauk County, Wis., the son of Arnold and Audrey Brockman. He married Rose Kneeland on Sept. 10. 1960, in Wisconsin. They were later divorced. Arnie worked at Life Investors and retired from there after more than 40 years of service.
Arnie enjoyed watching Hawkeye women's basketball and Hawkeye football. He was an avid outdoorsman; enjoyed fishing, hunting, biking and golf.
He was a member of the 601 Club, the Wild Bunch and proudly served in the Navy.
Arnie was a people person who enjoyed the com-pany of his many friends and beloved family.
His memories will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial fund has been established.
