Armstrong, Lora Lea
Lora Lea Armstrong went to join the Angels of heaven on June 12, 2010. A celebration of life gathering will be at Cedar Hills Community Church on Thursday, June 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, June 25, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with Dr. Leonard Ranson of Cedar Hills Community Church officiating. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Surviving to honor her memory are her mother, Helen Armstrong of Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Linda Copeland of Kansas City, Mo., and Lou Ann Yacoub of Cedar Rapids; three nephews, Gary (Beth) Copeland of Greenwood, Mo., and Scott Copeland and Patrick Copeland, both of Kansas City, Mo.; and her furry companion dog, Madison.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Armstrong
Lora was born April 22, 1957, in Kansas City, to Gerald and Helen (Michael) Armstrong. She was employed at the Baptist Medical Center in Kansas City for 28 years. She moved to Cedar Rapids in 2005. She loved movies, Indian history, photography and painting. She was an avid astronomer and belonged to A.S.K.C.
Special acknowledgments to doctors Melanie Stahlberg, Fadi Yacoub and Richard Kettelkamp.
Lora will be fondly remembered for her giving spirit. She will be missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
