Arleta Louise Moulden, 84, formerly of Marion, Iowa, passed away at her home in Alamo, Texas, on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022. Memorial service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 31, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Inurnment will follow at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion.
Arleta was born on Oct. 23, 1938, to Horace and Ruth (Elliot) Annis in Winthrop, Iowa. She worked for Rockwell International for 10 years. She married Leo Vanourney and raised six children in Cedar Rapids and Eugene, Ore. She returned to Cedar Rapids and in 1985 started a small business, Arleta's Resale. On April 30, 2012, Arleta married Everett Moulden. She had a strong Christian faith and loved to spend time outside, gardening and enjoyed traveling.
Arleta is survived by her children, Steve Vanourney of Portland, Ore., Marty (Patrice) Vanourney of Reno, Nev., Kevin (Debra) Vanourney of Solon, Iowa, Jamie (Patty) Vanourney of Burnt Ranch, Calif., Lisa Vanourney of Twain Harte, Calif., and Tina (Barry) Ehrig of Grundy Center, Iowa; as well as two sisters, Elsie Henderson of Houston, Texas, and Juanita Borchardt of Marion, Iowa. She had nine grandchildren, Kyle Vanourney, Adam Vanourney, Aaron Vanourney, Cody Vanourney, Reba Menchinella, Shane Myhre, Seth Myhre, Kaitlynn Ehrig and Emily Ehrig; and five great-grandchildren. She also had many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Moulden; her parents; and her brother, Ron Annis.
Arleta enriched our lives and her family will miss her every day.
