Arlene Lois Lewis, 78, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, May 31, 2024, at Cottage Grove Place. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Celebration of Life service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2024, at Brosh Chapel. Burial will be in Whittier Cemetery.
Arlene was born July 30, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Bennett and Elizabeth (Blazek) Bedell. She graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School, Class of 1964. Arlene was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Lewis on September 20, 1964, in Cedar Rapids. In her earlier years she worked at Rockwell, and after raising her children she worked at Bezdek, Pierson Flower Shop and Sykora Bakery. She enjoyed sewing, cross-stitching, collecting cookbooks, cooking, baking, and most of all spending time with her family. She was very supportive of her children’s sporting activities.
Arlene is survived by her children Bill (Jen) Lewis of Onslow, Bob (Deanna) Lewis of Atkins and Deb (Warren) Bolsinger of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren Nicole (Zach) Weisner, Brandon Lewis and Rylee Bolsinger; three great-grandchildren Liam, Willa and Lincoln Weisner; her sisters Donna Norris and Mary Malmer; a sister-in-law Sandra Anthony; a brother-in-law Don (Jean) Lewis; as well as her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings Betty Bedell (Ray Vondracek), Cate Gianetto, sister-in-law Linda Lewis, brothers-in-law Marc Anthony, Dennis Lewis, Jim Norris and Clark Malmer.
