Arlene L. Stratton, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, in her home. Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Cedar Valley Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 2204 26th St. NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405. Private family burial will be in Czech National Cemetery. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is handling Arlene's arrangements.
Arlene was born July 23, 1928, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Eugene and Lenora (Kephart) Spooner. She married Harry Edwin Stratton on Sept. 1, 1946, in Cedar Rapids. Arlene enjoyed gardening and sewing doll clothing for American Girl dolls, Cabbage Patch dolls and Barbies.
Arlene is survived by her daughter, Cherri Arlene Baird of Rosenberg, Texas; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; daughter, Penny Montgomery; and her siblings.
