Arlene Hora Dayhoff, 94, died Feb. 21, 2023. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Memory Gardens in Iowa City, Iowa.
Survivors include her nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W.; her parents; three brothers; and one sister.
Arlene was born July 23, 1928, in Iowa City, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Kadera) Hora. She graduated from West Branch High School and the University of Iowa College of Nursing. Arlene married John W. Dayhoff on June 30, 1962. John died March 25, 1981. She served on St. Luke’s Hospital and Foundation boards. She received state and national recognition for her work in the health and human services field. She was a member of Chapter II P.E.O. and St. Paul’s Methodist Church.
