Arlene M. Gunderson, 88, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Keystone and Toledo, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at NewAlDaya Lifescapes.
She was born May 6, 1928, in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of Albert and Hermie
(Homolar) Kavalier. She grew up in Elberon, Iowa, and graduated from Elberon High School. She married Leon Kruckenberg on May 25, 1947; they later were divorced. She married Charles Gunderson on Dec. 14, 1991; he preceded her in death April 23, 1993.
She is survived by two daughters, Pam (Virgil) Vranek of Chelsea and Linda Yuska of Fischers, Ind.; one son, Gene (Patty) Kruckenberg of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her significant other, Milo Weltruski, and his children, Chi (Orv) Morris and Doug (Shelly) Weltruski, all of Cedar Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Gunderson; and one son-in-law, Duane Yuska.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, with visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to University of Iowa Cancer Research and to the family.
