Arlene L. Galloway, 80, of Marion, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, March 2, 2014, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 6, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Burial will follow in Rogers Grove Cemetery, near Ely. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, at Brosh Chapel.
Arlene was born May 4, 1933, in Lisbon, the daughter of William A. and Freida D. (Kriepke) Feuss. She married William Galloway on Oct. 18, 1951, in Troy, Mo. Arlene worked for Nash Finch, FMC Linkbelt Speeder, Cryovac and retired from Job Service of Iowa in 1996. She enjoyed camping in her early years, cross stitching, gardening, playing the keyboard and spending time with her family.
Arlene is survived by her children, Nancy Newenham of Lisbon, James Galloway (Dale Vargason) of Marion and Bill (Deb) Galloway Jr. of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Andrew, Jason and Megan Galloway, all of Cedar Rapids; one great-grandchild; her brother, William Feuss of Lisbon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William on May 23, 2012; a son-in-law, Duane Newenham; and siblings, Darlene Short, Arnita Feuss and Edward, Arthur, Raymond, Elmer, Verney and Henry Feuss.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy for their loving care of Arlene and her family.
