Aric Asher Campbell, 35, of Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, Oct.
2, 2015.
He was born Aug. 7, 1980, in Yankton, S.D., the eldest child of Douglas Dean and Tae Marie (Lafevers) Campbell. Aric grew up in Wellman, Iowa, and graduated from Wellman/Mid Prairie High School in 1998, where he was also an Eagle Scout. On Jan. 28, 2004, at the age of 23, Aric married Jennifer Sue Gilbert in Nauvoo, Ill. Aric was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in Tempe, Ariz.
Aric always had a thoughtful, intelligent nature and fiercely loved family. He freely gave of himself to others with a clever wit and sense of humor. He is and always will be a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend and his knowing smile and kind eyes will be greatly missed.
Primary visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cedar Rapids Stake Center, 4150 Blue Jay Dr. NE, Cedar Rapids, with a short visitation from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Private family burial: Mount Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
Aric is survived by Jenn, his loving wife of 11 years; two children, Emmaline Olive and Aiden Broderick Campbell; his parents, Doug and Tae of Wellman; brothers, Neal (Whitney) Campbell of Wellman and Ryan Campbell of Wellman; sisters, Amy (Allen) Overy of Riverton, Wyo., Jodi (Scott) Baldwin of Muscatine, Jessica (Bryan) Overy of Rexburg, Idaho, Bethany (Mark) Lingard of Kinross and Erin Campbell of Wellman; grandparents, Cleo and Marilyn Campbell of Viborg, S.D., and Dewie and Betty Lafevers of Bingen, Wash.; in-laws, Neil and Sue Gilbert; and 18 nieces and nephews.
The family is grateful to all those who have expressed condolences to the family at this difficult time of mourning.
Aric will live forever through our memories and our love.
