Arends, Marie M.
Marie M. Arends, 89, of Clarence, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2013, at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence, with the Rev. Allen Christopherson officiating. Burial: Clarence Cemetery. Visitation: 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Survivors include two sons, DeWayne (Lucy) Arends of Oxford Junction and Ray (Kaye) Arends of Lakebay, Wash.; daughter, Delores Griffith of Lowden; granddaughters, Dawn (Doug) Muench of Clarence, Debra (Jeff) Wenndt of Lowden, Deanna (Terry) Taylor of Lisbon and Tina Marie of Federal Way, Wash.; great-grandchildren, Rebecca (Rex) Hulme, Jenel Wenndt, Keegan Meyer and Brandon, Breyen and Keenan Walch; great-great-grandchildren, Tyler, Ryker and Isabella Hulme; and brother, Fred (Minnie) Feckers of Clarksville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, three sisters and a granddaughter.
Marie was born May 3, 1924, at Parkerbury, Iowa, to George and Malena Behrends Feckers. She married Dick Arends on June 5, 1942. He died on April 22, 1991.
Marie enjoyed her grand and great-grandchildren immensely. She was a gracious lady and enjoyed the Scripture.
The family would like to thank the Clarence Nursing Home for the wonderful care she received while she was there.
