On March 16, 2014, at the age of 77, Ardyce Arlene (Schake) Subra of Marion, Iowa, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior.
She was born July 29, 1936, to Walter and Birdelle (Porter) Schake near Bellingham, Minn. She attended Waterloo East High School and Milton-vale Wesleyan High School, where she graduated in 1954. She also attended Miltonvale Wesleyan College in Miltonvale, Kan. (now Oklahoma Wesleyan University).
On Sept. 13, 1958, Ardyce married Glen Robert Subra at First Wesleyan Metho-dist Church in Waterloo, Iowa. Over the years she and Glen lived in Waterloo, Fairfield, Fort Huachuca (Arizona), Fort Dodge, Cedar Rapids and Marion.
Ardyce was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter (Sandra Jeanette Subra), and brothers, Warren Schake, James Schake and Derryl Schake.
She is survived by her husband, Glen; her brother, Dale Schake (Dona) of Dundee; and sisters, Marlyn Subra of West Union and Darla Stoppelmoor (Rudy) of Roberts, Wis.
She also leaves behind four children, Jeff Subra (Cherie) of Schroon Lake, N.Y., Kevin Subra (Jane) of Des Moines, Kurt Subra (Jenny) of Polk City and Renee Krepfle of Marion.
She also is survived by 25 grandchildren and 14 great-grand-children.
She enjoyed shopping, reading, shopping, traveling, shopping and visiting with her family and friends and shopping. Ardyce's faith in her Lord and Savior was her foundation and now she enjoys His presence in heaven.
Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 20. Ardyce's memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, March 21. Both events will be held at Friendship Baptist Church, 700 Boyson Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
