Arduser, Casper
Casper Arduser, 94, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where a private family service will be held with military honors. The Rev. Edwin Moreano will officiate at the service.
Surviving are his wife, Elverna; three children, Diane (Bob) Yocum, Rockford, Ill., Don (Julie) Arduser, Hollywood, Fla., and Andy (Denise) Arduser, Monticello; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Gertrude Hein, Clara Arduser, Mildred Gerdes and Velma Baum; and two brothers, Clifford and George.
Casper Donald Arduser was born Sept. 6, 1917, in Hopkinton, Iowa, the son of Kasper and Emma (Strahle) Arduser. Casper received his education in the rural schools near Hopkinton and Sand Springs. He then started farming with his parents. Casper enlisted in the United States Army during World War II. He was a tank commander in the African and European Theaters. Casper retuned home from the war and started farming. Casper Arduser and Elverna Weers were married Aug. 24, 1950, at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. The couple purchased their farm near Langworthy in 1957. Casper continued to farm with his son, Andy, until recent years.
