Ard, Emma Amelia Stark
Preceding Emma in death were her husband; 10 brothers and sisters, Arnold, Ralph, Herbert, Angelo, Henry and Theodore and Evelyn, Mary, Edna and Henrietta.
Emma was born April 1, 1917, the middle child of 11 born to Charles Henry and Edna Gensicke Stark on the Stark Heritage Farm, rural Cedar Rapids. She attended country schools and graduated from St. Patrick's Catholic High School in Cedar Rapids. Emma married the love of her life, Russell Ard on June 26, 1944. He died Sept 23, 1972. She cared for her family and home her entire life.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hallmark Care and Rehabilitation Center, especially the RNs, CNAs, activities coordinators, food service, laundry, and maintenance personnel who made these last two years for Mom so pleasant. Also a special thanks to her table mates Helen Treftz, Edna Cashatt and the late, Rosemary Dye.
