Ard, David Alan
David Alan Ard, 50, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, of natural causes.
Dave lived in Cedar Rapids his whole life and graduated from Kennedy High School. After high school Dave entered the military and gave over 20 years of service to our country. Dave served one year in Sasebo, Japan, where he received the global war on terrorism service medal. Dave also worked at Whirlpool where he put over 16 years on the assembly line. Dave's passions were naval ships, guns, and old war movies. Dave loved his family and friends with all his heart.
He leaves behind his father, Dean; brother, Terry; two sons, Joe and Dennis; daughter, Bailey; and granddaughter, Vivian. Dave is preceded in death by his mother, Marlys.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories and the visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the family.
