On Aug. 3, 2023, our beloved son, father and brother, Anthony “Tony” James Brooks passed away. A visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 520 Wilson Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with a light luncheon to follow. Inurnment: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Tony was born March 18, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Eugene and Jan Brooks. He loved playing rugby and started his career playing for the Cedar Rapids Headhunters. Tony continued playing for Life College of Chiropractic in Marietta, Ga.; he graduated and established his practice as a chiropractor.
Tony is survived by his sons, Nathan and Nicholas; their mother, Alecia; mother, Jan; sister, Trinda; niece, Jada; nephew, Jon; great-nieces, Ella and Isabela; great-nephew, Alexander; and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene, in 2013; and great-niece, Maria, in 2015.
