Anthony "Tony" M. Dietiker, 35, of Central City, passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 3, at the funeral home, officiated by his cousin, Jeremiah Dietiker. Burial: Prairieburg North Boulder Cemetery, Prairieburg.
Survivors include his wife, Crystal of Central City; his children, Alexis and Tristan; his mother, Connie (Bob) Smith of Central City; his father, Ned Dietiker of Central City; one sister, Brandy (Troy) Bauer of North Liberty; two stepsisters, Alicia Smith of Cedar Rapids and Tina Ohl of Quasqueton; mother-in-law, Cindy Wittenburg of Springville; brothers-in-law, Brad (Jodie) Wittenburg of Springville and Matt (Natalie) Wittenburg of Swisher; sister-in-law, Stacy (Anthony) Mason of Springville; paternal grandfather, Richard Dietiker of Monticello; grandmothers-in-law, Luella Wittenburg of Martelle and Marilyn Schmidt of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clifford and Leona Taylor; paternal grandmother, Vivian Dietiker; uncle, Randall Dietiker; and father-in-law, Don Wittenburg.
Tony was born Aug. 27, 1980, in Cedar Rapids, to Ned and Connie (Taylor) Dietiker. He graduated from Central City High School in 1999. Tony was a U.S. Army veteran. He married Crystal Wittenburg on June 5, 2004. Tony was a correctional officer, currently serving as captain at the Iowa State Penitentiary in Anamosa. Tony had many hobbies and interests, but his greatest love of all was the time he spent with his family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Alexis and Tristan.
