ANTHONY FRANCIS DUNLEVY
Cedar Rapids
Anthony Francis Dunlevy, 72, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy from lung cancer. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Christ Church Presbyterian by the Rev. Tim Dyck. Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Teahen Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
Tony is survived by his wife, Barbara (Prescott); his son, Shane of Lawton, Okla.; his sisters, Mary (Richard) Meyer, Marilyn (David) McDermott and Pam (John) Del Degan, all of Dubuque; and many nieces and nephews.
Tony was born May 28, 1946, in Anamosa, the son of Virginia Hinz Dunlevy and adopted son of Joseph Dunlevy. He served in the Army from 1965 to 1967 and married Barbara Prescott on Sept. 4, 1965, in Cedar Rapids. Tony worked in printing sales and retired from Feiereisen Inc. in 2012.
Tony enjoyed hunting, working on and fixing up cars, music, golfing and gardening, making sure his flowers were blooming. He especially loved spending time with his family, and will be missed by all who knew him.
Tony's family would like to remind everyone that early detection of lung cancer helps. So if you have a bad cough that does not go away, please get checked.
Memorials may be directed to the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center or Christ Church Presbyterian.
