Anthony "Tony" G. Blum of Surprise, Ariz., passed away May 14, 2014, after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease.
Tony was raised on a farm in Minnesota and after earning a master's degree in political science from the University of Iowa, attained prominence in the field of marketing, advising global brands on product development and marketing strategy.
Tony was an esteemed consultant, long part of the Jefferson Davis Associates team in Cedar Rapids. Ag-riculture was one of Tony's many areas of expertise.
Tony was known for keen intelligence, a voracious appetite for news and Iowa Hawkeyes successes, an uncanny ability to relate to and encourage people from all walks of life, long-lasting friendships, playfulness and wit.
Tony is survived by his spouse of 25 years, Mark Glazier, from Cedar Rapids; and by family in Minnesota.
A memorial service for Tony is planned for October in Minnesota.
The family is grateful for care given by the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center of Phoenix and the many people involved in Tony's care.
Donations to the Center or the American Parkinson Disease Association will be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
