Anne (Willard) Fredrekson, 62, passed on May 14, 2021, following a long battle with early-onset Alzheimer's disease. She was born to Adolf and Dorothy Fredrekson on Feb. 23, 1959, in Congo-Brazzaville, Africa. She moved to the U.S. as a young child, and grew up in Shellsburg, Iowa.
Anne married and moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa, and raised two daughters, Megan and Audrey Grieder. In addition to being a wife and mother, her career outside the home included positions as a retail manager for a local chain of stores, the office manager and bookkeeper for an air freight company, and later, a seasonal summer worker in Alaska. Anne had a wide variety of interests and pastimes that ranged from reading and DIY projects around the house, to traveling, hunting, photography and scuba and flying lessons.
Survivors include her long-time partner, Blaine Fisher; her daughters, Megan Lorsch (David) and Audrey Gobeo (Louis); grandchildren, Michael, Jeffrey and Ulysses; sister, Mary Fredrekson; and two nephews, and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Anne chose to be cremated. Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City is handling arrangements. A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
