Anne B. Munson, 95, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018, at Westridge Care Center, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Anne was born Aug. 6, 1923, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Mathew "Matt" Sr. and Marie (Gianetti) Macek. She graduated from Wilson High School in Cedar Rapids. On June 5, 1955, Anne was united in marriage to John G. Munson Jr. She worked at Iowa Theatre, now known as Theatre Cedar Rapids, Killian's and the Cedar Rapids School District in food service. Anne enjoyed being a Westdale Mall walker.
Anne is survived by her son, Doug Munson of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Janet (Loys) Beathke of Belle Plaine; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and close friends, Franklin and Marcia Henrickson of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; brothers, Matt Macek Jr., Mike Macek, Don Macek and Tony Macek; and sisters, Mary Buclow, Rose McCloud and Helen Baily.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Franklin and Marcia Henrickson for the wonderful friendship given to Anne.
