Anne “Annie” Elizabeth Judge died Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at UIHC.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM, Saturday, December 21, 2024, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Coralville. The family will greet friends after 9:15 AM at the Church. In memory of Annie, honor those in the teaching profession.
Annie was born March 13, 1941, in Ames, Iowa to Mildred (Brown) Judge and Joseph James Judge.
Annie graduated from Ames High School and the University of Northern Iowa in elementary education. She later earned a Master’s degree in Special Education.
Annie’s teaching career took her to Wisconsin, California, the Peace Corps in St. Lucia and 34 years in St. Louis. Upon retirement in 1993, she moved to Iowa City to be near family.
Annie was a loving daughter, sister, a dedicated and talented teacher, and a devoted aunt to her 10 nieces and nephews, 21 great nieces and nephews
Annie is survived by her sister Mary Merchant (Jim) and by her nieces, Karrie Hetzler (Dustin), Sarah Rubach (Jon), her nephews Joe Merchant (Mary), Jeff Fields (Megan), John Merchant (Diane), Mark Merchant (Angela), Matthew Fields (Justine), David Fields (Heidi), Daniel Fields (Rebecca), Jamie Merchant (Christine).
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Martha Fields (Marty).
