Anna Maria (Miceli) Stuckenbruck (the candy lady), 84, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014, at West Ridge Care Center, after a long
illness. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday May 28, with a vigil service at 6 p.m., at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday May 29, at St. Jude's Catholic Church. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Thursday May 29, at St. Jude's Catholic Church, Edgewood Road, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine.
Anna was born Oct. 15, 1929, in Tama, Iowa, to Charles and Dia (Sala) Miceli at their home. She graduated from Tama High School. She was united in marriage to Dale Stuckenbruck on Oct. 8, 1955, at St. Patrick's Church in Tama. They made their home in Cedar Rapids.
Anna is survived by her sisters-in-law, Betti Miceli, California, and Ester Miceli, Cedar Rapids.
She is also survived by nephews, Michael (Renae) Miceli, Steve and Dorie Miceli and Ken Plavets.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale in 2013; her brothers, Sam Miceli and Jim Miceli; her sister, Vita and her husband, Warren Plavets; her parents; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Violet Cherveny; and her in-laws.
She was employed by McKesson for 42 years. She loved taking long walks, collecting cookbooks, reading, cooking and baking. She loved sharing her new recipes and samples with her co-workers. They were her testing panel. She had a great love for her many friends, especially children. Anna loved people. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Anna prepared this obituary and theses are her words: I would like to thank Dr. Ghosh and his staff for the wonderful care I have received from them for the past 12 years. Thank you to all my wonderful friends. I love every one of you.
