Anna Mae Sparks, 61, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at her home of natural causes.
She was born Oct. 16, 1955, in Vinton, Iowa, daughter of Eldon Leroy and Patricia Ann Evens Koehn. She married Lyle James Dean; they later divorced. She then married Garland Wright Sparks. He died Oct. 8, 2001. She had a significant other, James V. Fisher. He died Nov. 28, 2014.
Anna Mae worked as a bartender at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Club.
Surviving are a son, Shane (Jennell) Dean of Boone; three daughters, Stacy (Jeff) Diveley of Shellsburg, Shannon Mettlin of Vinton and Samantha Dean of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren, Wade, Lexi, Bella, MeKinze, Brady, Keeley, Kole, Kristina and Dakota; five great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Dot (Rod) Maudlin of Eddyville, Connie (Bill) Greene of Walford and Karen (Dave) Rains of Sigourney.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Josey.
A Celebration of Life will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at Fraternal Order of Eagles, 202 E. First St., Waterloo. Family will receive friends for one hour before services at the club. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street in Waterloo is assisting the family with arrangements.
