Anna V. Olson, 88, formerly of Hartwick, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at Premier Estates of Toledo. Funeral Mass: 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Brooklyn, with Father Corey Close officiating. Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Brooklyn. Visitation: 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn, with a rosary recited at 11:30 a.m.
Memorials may be contributed to the University of Pennsylvania Hospital for F.O.P. Research.
Anna is survived by her children, David (Julie) of Decorah, Janice (Dennis) Kelly of Morton, Ill., Thomas (Marilyn) of Cedar Rapids, Douglas of Des Moines, Jim (Mary) of Burlington, LeRoy (LouAnna) of Toledo, Margaret (Curtis) McWilliams of Victor and Randy (Paula) of West Des Moines; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Paul Schember of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Anna Hayek Vavroch; her husband, Howard, in 2002; a grandson, Tyler; sisters, twins Marie Posusta and Julia Waterbeck, and Agnes at 2 years old; and brothers, Joe and George Vavroch, and Frank, who died at birth.
