ANNA CHRISTINE (GANGESTAD) OBERHAUSER

Anna Christine (Gangestad) Oberhauser, 35, of Central City, formerly of Marion, passed away Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at her home. Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion. Private family inurnment: Holy Cross Cemetery in Anamosa at a later date.
Survivors include her husband, Russ Oberhauser of Central City; her stepchildren, Ryan Oberhauser, Tyler Oberhauser and Kyle Oberhauser; her parents, Bruce and Mary Gangestad of Marion; her sister, Sarah (Bob) Barnett of Cedar Rapids and their children, Nick, Andrew and Matthew; brother, Matthew Gangestad of Marion and his daughter, Samantha; brother, Nathan Gangestad of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sister, Elizabeth (Derek) Cibula of North Liberty; sister-in-law, Jobi Gangestad and her children, Lacey and Riley of Anamosa; her grandparents, Norma Gangestad and F.M. (Bud) Jorgensen, both of Atlantic; and her beloved pets, Sadie and Sophie.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Adam Gangestad, in 2012; her grandfather, Kenneth Gangestad in 2004; and grandmother, Joanna Jorgensen, in 1996.
Anna was born Oct. 1, 1980, in Des Moines, to Bruce and Mary Jo (Jorgensen) Gangestad. She graduated from Linn-Mar High School. Anna married Russ Oberhauser on June 27, 2009, in Central City. Her love was her family and she also enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, and spending time with her pets. Anna was an avid volunteer for MDA Summer Camp. She loved children, especially her nieces and nephews, and had a unique ability to calm babies. She will be affectionately remembered as "The Baby Whisperer." Everyone loved her contagious smile and her sense of humor.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Anna's memory.
