Anna L. Kindl, 94, longtime resident of Iowa City, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 1016, at Mercy Iowa City Hospice.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 7, at Zion Lutheran Church, with burial following at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Gay & Ciha Funeral Service in Iowa City.
Memorials in Anna's name may be directed to Mercy Iowa City Hospice or Zion Lutheran Church.

Anna was born May 31, 1921, in rural Hancock County, daughter of August and Hannah (Bruns) Brunsen. On May 1, 1943, she married William Kindl Sr. at Zion Lutheran Church. During the war, Anna came to Iowa City through the WPA and obtained her nurses training. She went to work as a nurse at Mercy, the university and later transferred to food service at the IMU, and then to sewing at the hospital until her retirement in 1986.
She and Bill enjoyed traveling and wintering in warmer places. Anna also enjoyed sewing, quilting and spending time with friends in a few of their social groups that kept her active. She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Her family includes her children, William Kindl of Central City, Patricia Schneider of Iowa City, Richard Kindl (Kathryn) of Iowa City and David Kindl of Iowa City; her sister, Bertha Leerar of Britt; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven siblings and son-in-law, Paul Schneider.
