Anna Mae (Lammers) Besler, 92, of Marion, died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Willow Gardens Care Center, Marion. Private family services were held. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Marion.
Anna was born Feb. 16, 1922, in Petersburg, Iowa, the middle daughter of 10 children for John and Ella (Bockenstedt) Lammers. Her sister, Yvonne Theel, of Marion, is her last surviving sibling.
On June 10, 1942, she married Arthur Besler at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Edgewood, Iowa. They settled in the Cedar Rapids area and had five children. Arthur died in 1975.
Anna will be remembered as an immaculate housekeeper who was very particular about her fashion and appearance. She enjoyed looking her best and going shopping and dancing.
