Ann Shirley Wenz, 84, of Coralville, died Sept. 26, 2018, at her residence.
Ann Wenz was born Oct. 4, 1933, in Davenport, to Robert and Pauline (Heick) Wensorra. Anne married Gene Ackerman on July 17, 1955,
in Cedar Rapids. Gene passed away in August of 1981.
She moved to Iowa City in 1996 and has resided in this area since then. Ann was employed by Nurses Registries as a certified nursing assistant, working all over the United States before retiring in 1998. She has resided in Coralville since 2002.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Steve) Frank of Portland, Ore.; sister, Kathy Scott of Luray, Kan.; grandchildren, Rachel Gustafson, Joy Frank, Joshua Frank and Timothy Frank of Portland, Ore.; and great-grandson, Declan Gustafson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene Ackerman; daughter, Laura Lee; and sisters, Nancy Wright and Joan Pallett.
Honoring her wishes, Ann will be cremated and there will be no services.
