Anita M. "Nicki" Ruppert, 67, lifelong resident of Iowa City, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. There will be a time for friends and family to gather to celebrate Nicki's life from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Coralville American Legion on Second Street.

Anita Marie Quinn was born Nov. 28, 1948, in Iowa City, the daughter of James and Dorothy (Aicher) Quinn. She attended Iowa City Catholic grade school and graduated from Regina High School with the class of 1966. She later attended the University of Iowa. For many years, she worked at Moore Business Forms before entering into the insurance business. She was associated with Freeman Insurance Co. in Iowa City for many years before retiring. Nicki enjoyed reading a good book, designing and creating beautiful pieces of fine jewelry and making quilts for family and friends. She loved life and those around her!
Her family includes her husband, Jim; siblings, Mary Lee Ehrenfelt, James William Quinn (Tonya), Carol Albaugh (Dennis), Kristine Quinn (Gib Copeland) and Mark Quinn (Geri); stepsons, Tony Ruppert (Cheri) and Brad Ruppert (Nicole); and four grandchildren, Samuel, Megan, Cassidy and Cade.
Anita's family would like to share a heartfelt thank you to all at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and also at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy for their loving care of our Anita and our family through the many days of her illness.
