Anita Maxine Felling, 77, of Marengo, died Oct. 19, 2016, following a long illness. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at Trinity United Church of Christ, rural Marengo. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.

Anita was born March 13, 1939, in Union, Ill., the daughter of P. Lawrence Keener and Juanita Maxine Wheeler Keener. She graduated from Monticello High School, Class of 1957. She received her nursing degree from Coe College and St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. On Aug. 21, 1960, Anita married Dwight Felling, and together they had four children. She worked at the Marengo Memorial Hospital for the majority of her nursing career, and was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, rural Marengo.
Anita was a caring person, and she especially loved taking care of her family. In her free time, Anita liked traveling, visiting with people, and bonding with her pets.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Patricia Stoneking and Mary Keener; and grandchildren, Christina Felling and Colby Taylor.
She is survived by her husband, Dwight, of 56 years; her children, Denise (Scott) Fowler of Marengo, Ruth (James) Taylor of Boise, Idaho, Esther (Martin) Jenke of Hamburg, Germany, and Roger (Lynettia) Felling of Marengo; a sister, Janice (Carl) Rieniets of Monticello; and a brother, Ronald Keener of Austin, Texas. She also is survived by nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
