Angie Messerschmitt, 60, of Watkins, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022. A graveside service is Wednesday, Dec 28, at 11 a.m. at Oak Shade Cemetery in Marion. Celebration of life follows the graveside service at New City Church, 5335 Midway Dr. NW, Cedar Rapids.
Angie is survived by her husband, Marty Messerschmitt; stepchildren, Travis Messerschmitt and Trinity Thornton; brothers, Dale Henry Dykhuizen Jr. and Ted Dykhuizen; half sisters, Danielle Kunde and
Jennifer Boyle; mother and stepfather, Susan and Danny Boyle; nieces and nephews, Amanda Washburn, Chris Washburn, Kimmie Moore, Kassie Dykhuizen, Bryan Kunde, Caitlin Kunde, Maura Wilkey and Madison Wilkey; and one great-niece, India Rose Cratton.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Henry Dykhuizen Sr.; sister, Kimberly Washburn; and nephew, Michael Washburn.
Angie liked to camp, travel and be outdoors. She loved spending time with family and her cats. She was a simple person who loved living and enjoyed life the best anyone could.
