Angeline Panagos, 91, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at The Gardens of Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 1, with Trisagion Service to begin at 7 p.m. at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids.
Funeral service: 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Cedar Rapids. Burial will take place at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Angeline was born Aug. 27, 1930, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Greek immigrants, Tom and Anna (Kavalierou) Panagos. As a young girl, she worked at the family restaurant, The Diana Cafe, where she learned the value of dedication and strong work ethic. Angeline was the eldest of her sisters, Diana and Mary. She graduated from McKinley High School in 1948. Angeline completed her certification at The American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa. She began her working career as a secretary at the Iowa Theater. She then dedicated over 40 years to Rockwell Collins, where she was an executive secretary and then she created the on-site travel agency and became department manager while negotiating and managing Rockwell corporate travel. Angeline retired in 2000 as a well-respected and very accomplished employee and friend.
Angeline was part of the founders of the Ethnic Festival at the Roundhouse. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church and Philoptochos Society at the church. Angeline loved to be involved at church and she was very proud of her heritage. She was very close to her family and loved to travel with them. Angeline will be missed by those who loved her.
Survivors include her sister, Mary Moscrip of Cedar Rapids; nieces, Diann Terss of Athens, Greece, Alexandra Kelleher of Pacifica, Calif., Anna (Calvin) Hare of Tucson, Ariz., Denise (Jeff) Rosenow and Stephanie (John) Rosenow, all of Phoenix, Ariz.; nephew, Joseph (Dalena) Erceg of Tucson; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Angeline was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Anna Panagos; sister, Diana Erceg; and nephew, Father Constantine Terss.
