Angeline C. "Angie" Bowen, 90, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Dubuque, died Aug. 28, 2015, at Garnett Place in Cedar Rapids. To honor Angie's life, funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at St.
Patrick's Church, 1425 Iowa St., Dubuque. To celebrate Angie's life, family and friends may visit from 9 until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., Dubuque. Entombment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
Angie was born Oct. 18, 1924, in Baton Rouge, La., daughter of Louis and Josephine (Piazza) Salario. Angie was united in marriage to Donald Bowen on Aug. 5, 1950, in Baton Rouge. He preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1999.
Angie worked as a pediatric nurse at Xavier Hospital, and as a school nurse for the Dubuque Community School District until her retirement in 1978.
Angie was a devout Catholic and longtime member of St. Patrick's Church.
Angie is survived by her children, Patricia (Darrel Wrider) Bowen, Cedar Rapids, Ellen (Roger) Jansson, Davenport, John Bowen, Dubuque, and Peggy (Trevin) Ward, Ames; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her brother, Blaise (Gwen) Salario, Baton Rouge; and several nieces and nephews.
An Angeline C. "Angie" Bowen memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the nurses, staff and residents of Garnett Place for the love and compassionate care they provided Angie.
